Not long after the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, Matt Gelinas has been focused on giving back to the venues and communities where he plays. For the last 9 or so weeks, Matt has been playing in his home studio, streaming live shows virtually to benefit local establishments, an, most recently, to benefit a good friend who was recently diagnosed with a serious illness. On Friday, May 15th, Matt played a virtual benefit show from his home studio, with the goal of raising money to help support a friend who was recently diagnosed with cancer. With the help of the generous community, Matt’s show was able to raise over $11,000 in just a three hour show!
On Tuesday, May 19th, at 7:00 PM, Matt was featured on New Hampshire’s local news outlet, WMUR-TV, channel 9, in a piece called “NH Chronicle.” This piece highlighted Matt’s virtual shows and the donations raised for the different causes since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

On Friday, May 15th, Matt performed virtually from his home studio to, once again, raise donations – but this time, for a friend who was recently diagnosed with cancer. With the power of music and help from the local community, Matt managed to raise approximately $12,000 for his friend and her family, to help them financially!!
On Friday, April 24th, Matt hosted a virtual show to benefit Granite Steak & Grille and Smokey’s Tavern in Rochester, New Hampshire. This was a huge success, generating almost $9,000 in donations for the furloughed employees!!
On Friday, April 17th, Matt played to benefit Lilac City Grill in Rochester, NH and it was a huge turnout. This benefit yielded $4,000 for LCG employees.
On Friday, April 10th, Matt’s first virtual show ever, was a HUGE success. This event benefited Kozy’s Pizza & Pub and Topwater Brewing of Barrington, NH. This show generated $3,000 in donations for employees!
